TL\DR A friend shared something with me last week and I've been reading and rereading it often since. I know most of you in this community (not all and I hope to remedy that soon) but, I know we all have lived life and life always has things in it we wish it didn't. For most of my life, I have been very good at disassociating with those things and was told how strong I was and resilient. I was neither I was just very good at surviving, smiling, and doing what needed to be done. That doesn't benefit anyone in the long run. The pain will come and not be any softer or easier than when the incident happened. But, as this article says we cannot pick and choose what gets to be part of our stories. That would stunt the ultimate good we have to impart to those around us. I love this quote in the article "We can sit with and tend to all that still needs to be healed and at the same time laugh, plan for great things ahead, and declare this a glorious day!!" My head knows the right answers figuring out how to get my heart and soul to acknowledge those answers is a work in progress. I know not everyone believes in the same god and that's ok. Here is a link to the original article I am referring to. It is a devotional from Lysa TerKeurst. https://drive.google.com/file/d/16598xnBQuG-LPfc3MvR6CfNe9VmUMz-D/view?usp=sharing
